The Columbus Youth Basketball League returns to the courts in Columbus tomorrow to host Riverton. Games are played in all three USD 493 Gymnasiums beginning at 8 a.m. The first and second grade boys will play the first two games in the Central School Round Top Gym.

The Columbus Lady Titans will be looking to repeat as Kansas Class 1-4A Regional Champions, Saturday, in Coffeyville when they arrive for the 2023 Regional Tournament. “Chanute is probably the team to beat,” said Lady Titan Head Coach Marcus Bowman.

Columbus rebounds to beat Girard

The Columbus Titans swept the first week of February games with a come-from-behind win over Girard, 49-36, Tuesday at the CUHS Gym. A lack-luster first half for the Titans brought back glimpses of the January 6, 40-50, loss to the Trojans in Girard.

The Columbus Titans moved to 6-2 in CNC League standings and 12-3 overall following a convincing, 59-36, win over St. Mary’s-Colgan, Friday, in Pittsburg. The Titans won a 4934 contest over the Panthers to open the 2022-23 season in early December. St.

In recognition of National Signing Day, the first Wednesday of February, a ceremony was held Monday at the CUHS Gymnasium for seven Titans extending their careers to the college level. Kolt’s signing was witnessed by sister, Kamryn and his parents, Kathi and Kolby Ungeheuer.
