Lady Titans fall to Lady Trojans

The Columbus Lady Titans were back on the basketball court, Friday, following their Christmas Break, at Girard. The Lady Trojans dominated the second half of the CNC League contest with 18 points in each of the third and fourth quarters to solidify their win, 57-27, over the Lady Titans.

Saporito first at Seneca JV

Columbus Titan Freshman, Cal Saporito, took first place at the Midwest Material Seneca (Mo.) Junior Varsity Wrestling Tournament, Saturday. Saporito took all three wins by fall on his way to the 106-pound title.

Five Titans in top six at Augusta Invitational

The Columbus Titan Wrestling Team took five wrestlers to the 55th Annual Augusta Invitational, Saturday. All five Titans placed in the top six to earn a seventh place team finish in a field of 14 teams and the third lowest number of participants.

Mini Titans take ten wins in Bulldog Classic

The Titan Mini Wrestling 8U division dominated the podium at the Bulldog Classic in Independence, Sunday. Baylor Bowman, Dayton Hughes, Lucas Nataini and Briggs Johnson all earned first place medals in their weight classes and John Parsons was second.

Rec Basketball in Galena Saturday

The Columbus Recreation Youth Basketball League begins their 2023 game slate, tomorrow in Galena. The first and second grade boys and girls will kick things off in Galena High School New Gymnasium at 8 a.m. The boys will play three sessions at 8 a.m., 8:30 a.m., and 9 a.m.

The Columbus Junior High School Titans opened their 2023 season on the road, Tuesday, in Joplin, Mo. at College Heights Christian School. They continued into their home opener, Thursday, as they hosted the Lions from Baxter Springs.

Titan Football year-end recognition

The 2022 Titan Football Team met at the CUHS Cafeteria, Tuesday evening to recognize their accomplishments of the season. Head Coach Blake Burns opened the night with a thank you to the administration for their support to the district’s student athletes and coaches.
