Jr Golf completes season in Parsons

The Columbus Junior Golf Program played in their final SEK League Junior tournament of the year at the Katy Golf Club in Parsons, Thursday. The junior Lady Titans swept the girl’s 9-11 age group with three of the four competitors from Columbus. Fallon Smiley was top medalist in first place.

Columbus Cal Ripken is hosting 2022 Kansas 8U State Tournament, Saturday at the Community Field Ballpark. The day will begin at 10 a.m. with Parsons and Frontenac facing off in game one. The winner will play game two against the host, Columbus All-Stars at noon.

Titans sweep summer league finale

The Titan Baseball Team wrapped up their summer schedule at the Field of Dreams Ballpark, Monday, in Baxter Springs. Columbus swept their hosts, 7-3 and 13-5 in seven and five inning games with a three outs or three runs format in the final, five inning game.

Jr. High volleyball open gym continues

The Central Junior High Volleyball Team is continuing their open gym schedule through July. Coaches invite any seventh or eighth grade girls wanting to play Lady Titan Volleyball this fall to come to open gym Thursday evenings from 7-8 at Central School Gymnasium.

Smileys have successful day on links

The Smiley Family had a successful day on the links for the Columbus Junior Golf Program, Tuesday in Coffeyville. Fallon, Lyndee and Alaina, daughters of Jerry and Melissa Smiley each earned a topfour medal in the event.

Carpino, Thompson win at Independence

Cali Carpino and Mallory Thompson came away with wins in the SEK Junior Golf Tournament, June 23 in Independence. Cali was the top medalist in the girls 9-11 age division shooting 34 over six holes. Mallory won the girls 15 and over age division. Easton Long placed third in the boys 11-12 division.

Lancers earn post season honors

Three Southeast Lancer Baseball Players were named to the All-Three Rivers League (TRL) in recent league announcements. Easton Renn and Cooper Hamblin were both selected for all-league honors and Nate Jacobs received allleague honorable mention.

Lady Titans Mallory Thompson and Reese Grundy competed in two Kansas Junior Golf Tournaments this summer, improving their skills on the links Ẇednesday, Reese won the 16 and over division, shooting a 103 at the Wellington Golf Club.
