Girls softball to host pool party

The Columbus Girls Softball League will host a pool party, July 7 to celebrate a great softball season. The league has reserved the Columbus City Pool on from 7-9 p.m. for the event.

McDown joins ESU coaching staff

Former Columbus Titan and Emporia State All-American linebacker Jace McDown will be taking his skills from the field to the coaching staff as the linebacker coach for the Emporia State University Hornet.

Columbus 8U softball champs

The Columbus Real Pro 8U Softball Team won the inter-city league championship, Friday, at the Columbus Community Field Ball Park over Galena Youth Softball/CC’s Construction, 11-10, in a high scoring shootout. Columbus began the tournament with a bye as the number one seed.

Titan Football on the field at PSU

Titan Football 2022 players and coaches attended the team camp held at Pittsburg State University’s Plaster Center, Sunday-Tuesday. The team ran drills against Marshfield, Mo. Morris, Mo. and Parsons during the three-day camp.

Galena wins 10U league tourney

The Galena 2, Valuable Vacations, Softball Team won the inter-city league softball 10 and Under Tournament, Tuesday, in Galena over Galena 1, Timber Ridge Lawn Care, 4-1 to earn the league championship.

8U tourney title game tonight

The Columbus Girls Softball League is hosting the eight and under intercity league softball tournament this week. Tonight, the tournament will conclude with the championship game at 6 p.m. at the Columbus Community Field Ball Park.

Fouts makes unassisted triple play

Jalie Fouts, 12 yearold member of the Mike Carpino Ford 12 and Under Columbus Girls Softball League Team, made a rare unassisted triple play in a game against Manzer Clinic, June 9 at the Columbus Community Field Ball Park.

Cal Ripken adds make-up games

The Columbus Cal Ripken League will play their final regular season games in the 10U Minor League and the 12U Major League, tonight at Volunteer Field in the Columbus Community Field Ball Park.

Junior Golf places in Chanute

The Columbus Junior Golfer Team played in Chanute, Thursday, at the weekly multi-city tournament. Cali Carpino and Reese Grundy brought home first place medals from the 9-11 and high school girls divisions.
