Southeast Lancer Seniors, Matthew Martinie and Ryan Wilkins earned three spots each in the Kansas Class 2A Track and Field Championships, today and tomorrow in Wichita. The pair earned their way to Wichita by placing in the top four at the Kansas Class 2A Regional, Friday in Lyndon.

The Columbus Lady Titans opened the Kansas Class 3A Regional with a nail-biter win over Galena, Monday, in Baxter Springs, 3-2. The teams traded home runs with the Lady Titans getting the final dinger on a two-run over the fence game winner by sophomore, Graci Major.

Titans third seed in 3A State Tourney

The Columbus Titans are seeded third in the Kansas Class 3A State Baseball Championship in the bracket released by the Kansas State High School Activities Association. The Galena 3A Regional Champions enter the state tournament with a 20-2 record.

Two CNC teams to play state softball

The Frontenac Lady Raiders and the St. Mary’s-Colgan Lady Panthers are representing the CNC League in the Kansas State Softball Tournaments, Thursday and Friday in their respective classes.

Columbus Jr. Golf tourney rescheduled

The Columbus Junior Golf Program began their summer schedule with practices, Monday through Wednesday. A tournament scheduled for Thursday has been rescheduled for May 31. League officials announced the change in the tournament date but will go ahead with the practices as previously announced.

A three-run sixth inning sealed the Kansas Class 3A Regional Baseball Title for the Columbus Titans, Tuesday in Galena. The defensive pitching battle resulted in the Titans first regional win over Frontenac, 5-1, and solidified a spot in the Kansas Class 3A Baseball Championship in Manhattan.

Vilela singles in regional semifinal walk-off win against Lions

A walk-off single by Titan Freshman, Jack Vilela, gave the Columbus Titan Baseball Team a semifinal win over Baxter Springs, 3-2, Tuesday in the Kansas Class 3A Regional Baseball Tournament in Galena. The Lions took an early lead when senior, Kameron (Kamo) Williamson, singled to lead off the game.
