Titans 3A State Baseball runner-up

The Columbus Titan Baseball Team took the field at Tointon Family Stadium on the campus of Kansas State University for the Kansas Class 3A State Baseball Championship game against Wichita Collegiate High School, Friday evening.

Columbus knocks off KC Bishop Ward in 3A semi

The Columbus Titans knocked off the number two seed, Kansas City -Bishop Ward (22-2) in the semifinal game of the Kansas Class 3A State Tournament, 9-3, Friday in Manhattan at Tointon Family Stadium on the campus of Kansas State University.

Titans take quarterfinal win over Sabetha, 5-4

The Columbus Titans opened their first modern era state tournament with a 5-4, win over Sabetha in the Kansas Class 3A State Baseball Tournament, Thursday, at Tionton Family Stadium on the campus of Kansas State University in Manhattan.

McDown adds to list of honors

Jace McDown, former Columbus Unified High School Student-Athlete continues to add to his awards cabinet as the 2021- 22 season and school year come to an end. Jace returned to Emporia State University for his final year of eligibility as a graduate student.

Summer Weights begin Tuesday

Summer Weights at Columbus Unified High School will begin, Tuesday, for high school student athletes. Junior High School, grades 6-8, will begin June 6. A high school, boys only, session will be held from 6 a.m.-7:20am with a girls only session to follow at 7:20 a.m. to 8:40 a.m.

Kirk concludes 3A state tourney

Titan Golfer, Mack Kirk, junior, had a tough day at the Kansas State High School Activities Association’s Class 3A Golf Tournament in Salina, Monday. Rain and cool weather made the links soggy and canceled the second round of the tournament, sending all golfers home early.

Gilmore receives Burlsworth Award

Riverton High School Senior, Garin Gilmore, has been awarded the Burlsworth Character Award for Outstanding Character and Sportsmanship. Garin is an All-State and All-CNC League Offensive Lineman the Riverton Ram Football Team.
