The Columbus Youth Basketball Players were recognized during halftime of the CUHS Titan home game versus Frontenac, February 22. Coaches for the first and second grade team are: Shawn Seimer, Matt Haviland, and Levi Snow.

Lady Titan Senior, Destiny Lima, signed a National Letter of Intent to play golf at the Coffeyville Community College with the Lady Red Raven Squad this fall. Destiny is a four-year letter earner for Columbus Unified High School and a two-time state qualifier.

Columbus Wrestling Club qualifies 15 for state

Twenty-nine Titan Wrestlers represented the Columbus Wrestling Club at the District 1 Championship Tournament, Saturday in Louisburg. The team collected 316 points to place ninth out of 53 teams participating. Paola won the team trophy with 895.5 points earned by 65 wrestlers.

Cal Ripken to hold sign-ups

The Columbus Cal Ripken Baseball League is holding signups for the 2022 summer season for ages four through 12. The first date will be Wednesday, March 16 at the Columbus Community Field Ball Park from 5:30 p.m.-7 p.m. Additional dates will be March 19 and March 26, 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.

Titan Mini Wrestler, Baylor Bowman, took third at the 49-pound weight class of the Kansas 6U State Wrestling Tournament, Sunday, in Mulvane. Baylor was 6-1 on the day, suffering one loss by fall and winning three technical falls and two major decisions in the 38-man field.
