Lady Titans earn sweep over Lady Lions

The Columbus Lady Titans earned a sweep against the visiting Lady Lions from Baxter Springs, Tuesday, in the varsity/junior varsity match-ups at the Columbus High School Gymnasium.
Titan Junior, Carter Woodcock, ran down an errant Lion pass and drove in for a layup to knot the game, 46-46 with 36 seconds left on the game clock. Baxter Spring Junior, Caleb Grant, did his best to catch Carter but was too late. The Lions had held the lead since halfway through the third quarter but Columbus completed the comeback win, 48-46.

Titans come from behind to edge Lions

The Columbus Titans pulled off another thriller in Tuesday’s 48-46, CNC League win over Baxter Springs at the CUHS Gymnasium. The score was the same as the team’s first meeting in January at Baxter Springs.

Lady Bulldogs take two wins at CUHS

The Galena Lady Bulldogs came into Columbus Unified High School Gymnasium, February 12 for make-up games and went home with two victories. The Lady Bulldog Varsity Squad took a 41-33 win over their hosts while the junior varsity got past the young Lady Titans, 11-8.

Dardenne headed to 3-1A State tourney

Macey Dardenne, a wrestler from Galena, spent her regular season competing with the Columbus Lady Titans in the absence of a team at her home school. Macey competed under the Galena flag, Saturday, at the Kansas Class3-1A East Regional in Silver Lake.

The Columbus Titans pulled off one of the biggest comebacks in team history with their 26-point, fourth quarter for the 50-47 win over the Galena Bulldogs, Friday night at the CUHS Gymnasium.

Titans of the Week

The Columbus FFA Employability Skills and Meat Judging Teams had a successful day at the Southeast District contest in Eureka recently. They are being recognized as Titans of the Week.A team/juniors and seniors, Trenton Lacen and Faith Williams placed seventh as a team.

Girard gets past Titans in CNC contest

The Girard Trojans had two big quarters to push past the visiting Columbus Titans, 58-43, Tuesday, in Girard.The Trojans took a quick 5-0 lead before junior, Kooper Saiz put his own rebound back in for the Titans. Junior, Carter Woodcock, drained a three-pointer and the game was tied, 5-5.

Lady Titans fall in Girard road trip

Relentless full court pressure was too much for the Lady Titans as they succumbed to the Lady Trojans, 67-26, in Girard, Tuesday.The score looked promising for the first eight minutes with Girard leading, 12-9.
