The Columbus Lady Titans turned a slow start into a Kansas Class 3A Sub-State Tournament win in Riverton, Tuesday. Trailing early, the Lady Titans, seeded fifth with an 8-11 record, pulled off a classic come-back in their 48-42 win over the Lady Rams, 8-10, who drew the fourth seed.

The Columbus Titan Basketball Team extended their season with a 50-31 win over the Baxter Springs Lions in the first round of the Kansas Class 3A Sub-State, Monday, at the CUHS Gymnasium. The Titans added another game to their postseason schedule and will play Cherryvale, Thursday, in Fredonia.

Riverton slips past Caney Valley in Sub-state bout

A great four and five seed match-up in Caney opened the District 1, Class 3A Sub-State with the number five, Riverton Rams. Riverton (8-11) outscored Caney Valley (11-9), 14-6 in the fourth period to win 41-37. Caney Valley entered the sub-state winning the last nine of eleven games.
