Central Lady Titans hosting Jamboree tomorrow

The Central Junior High School Lady Titan Basketball Team is hosting a multi-school Jamboree, tomorrow, at the Central School Campus. The Lady Titan Eight Grade Team will open the day against Parsons at 8 a.m. in the New Gym. Columbus Seventh will play Parsons seventh in game two at 9 a.m.

Baxter Springs disc golf tournament draws large number of competitors

Discs were flying all over Kiwanis Park in Baxter Springs Saturday, October 30 as the Baxter Springs Disc Golf Club held their first professional disc golf tournament. BDGC president Charles Rector said the Spring River Spooktacular was a great success with 66 players participating.

Laurance places at state CC meet

Columbus Titan Senior, Trey Laurance, placed 25th in the Kansas Class 3A Cross Country State Championship Meet, Saturday in Wamego. Trey completed the 5K course in a time of 17:48.5 minutes. Girard had two runners place in the top 25, Tanner Ulbrich placed seventh with a time of 16:50.

Titan 5th-6th end successful season

The Columbus Titan Fifth and Sixth Grade Football Team ended their 2021 season with a 26-16 win over Pittsburg Ry at Hutchinson Field in Pittsburg, October 23.

Former Titans compete at Region VI Championship

Former Titan and Lady Titan Cross Country State Qualifiers, Gunnar Laurance and Dixee Lacen, competed in the Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference/NJCAA Region VI Championships, Saturday at Colby Community College.

ALL-CNC League Volleyball chosen

Crawford-Neosho-Cherokee League Officals and Coaches have released their 2021 Volleyball All-CNC League Teams. Rebecca Lipasek, Rebecca Lipasek, Head Coach of the CNC League Champion Riverton Lady Rams was named CNC League Coach of the Year.

Final basketball sign-ups Saturday

The Columbus Youth Basketball League Signups are currently underway at the Red Iron Activity Center, Monday through Friday, 6 a.m. through 9 p.m. and Saturday, 6 a.m. through 5 p.m. Saturday, November 6 is the deadline for the signups.

Week 10 football contest results

The Columbus Titans and the St. Mary’s-Colgan Panthers were eliminated from the Kansas State Playoff Brackets after losing their first round, bi-district games, Thursday and Friday. All other CNC League Teams that began their post season in Week Nine are still alive for Week Ten.
