The Lady Rams volleyball team from Riverton remains undefeated for the season winning a best of five sets dual against the visiting St-Mary’s-Colgan, Tuesday. It took only three sets to go to four wins in 2021.

The Columbus Lady Titan Junior Varsity Volleyball Team split a nonconference triangular meet, Thursday in Neodesha. The night began with a two-set loss to their host, 12-25; 13-25 then rebounded for a three-set win over Cherryvale, 19-25; 25-19; 15-4.

Southeast Cross Country boys, girls fourth in opener

The Southeast Cross Country Teams ran in the Burlington Classic Race for their first meet of the season, Thursday. The varsity and junior varsity ran together in the 4K race. Runners were placed in JV/Varsity medal position based on their overall placement in the one race.

The Riverton Lady Ram Junior High Volleyball Team had a successful trip to Columbus with a sweep of all games played Thursday on the Central Junior High Campus. Riverton won the 7A match, 26-24; 25-17, ant the 8A contest, 25-16; 25-13.

Lady Lions begin volleyball season, 8-2

The Lady Lions started their 2021 volleyball season August 31 at home sweeping their triangular matches against Oswego, and Liberal, Missouri in straight sets. Baxter Springs defeated Oswego, 25-10; 25-16, and Liberal, 25-8; 25-18.
The Columbus Lady Titan Golf Team placed second at the Columbus Invitational held at the Brush Creek Golf Course, Thursday. In addition to the second place team finish, sophomore, Reese Grundy placed sixth to medal with a 51 on the nine-hole course and freshman, Mallory Thompson played tenth after winning a tie breaker, shooting 60 on the day. Team members are: Coach Ernie Vaughn, Alyvia Soper, Mallory Thompson, Kenlyn Christiansen, Hannah Daniels, Reese Grundy and Destiny Lima.

Lady Titan Golf second at Brush Creek

The Lady Titans placed second in the Columbus Invitational, Thursday, at the Brush Creek Golf Course. St. Mary’s-Colgan was first with 170 total strokes followed by Columbus with 246 strokes and Frontenac in third with a 262 total. The top four medalists were from the Lady Panther Team.

Titan Stadium, home of the Columbus Unified High School and Central Junior High School Titans, will get a workout this week as all three Titan teams will host home games. Tonight, the CUHS Titan Junior Varsity Squad will take the field against the Frontenac JV team at 6 p.m.
