The Columbus Cal Ripken 8U All-Star Team hosted the Kansas Cal Ripken State Tournament, Friday and Saturday at the Community Field Ball Park. Frontenac beat Parsons, 18-8 to win the championship game and take home the 2021 Kansas State title.

The Baxter Springs 10U Girls Softball Team placed second in the intra-city league tournament behind the league champion, Riverton squad in last weekend at the Riverton Girls Softball Field.

Baxter Springs Little League players had the opportunity to attend a Minor League game recently. Those traveling to Springfield to watch the Cardinals included Coach Kami Main, Brooks Walker, Isaiah Main, Braydon Wade, Coach Art Roberts, Bradley Wade, Riley Daniel, Coach Chris Sneed, Zane Sneed, Dexter Sneed, Caster Herrera, Weston Buck, Cole Parrish, Nathan Roberts Noah Creech. Cali Carpino led a group of six Columbus Junior Golfers in the season finale with a first place win in the 9-11 girls division at Independence. Cali shot a 37 for six holes to win the top medalist honors.

The Kansas 8U Cal Ripken State Tournament and the Kansas 10U Cal Ripken District 5 Tournament have rescheduled their starts for tonight in Columbus at the Community Field Ball Park.

The 2021 Columbus Ripken League wrapped up their regular season Thursday with closing ceremonies and awards presentations on Volunteer Field at the Community Field Ball Park. All league coaches and players donned their uniforms one last time to be recognized as the regular season officially ended and the post season began. The Columbus Cal Ripken League will be hosting the Kansas 8U State Baseball Tournament and the Kansas District 5 Baseball Tournament beginning tomorrow night at the ball park.
