Titans hosting jr. high, mini clinic

Titan Football is hosting a skills camp July 12-14 at Titan Stadium. The camp hosted by the CUHS Titan Team and is for Columbus USD 493 football players in third grade through eighth grade beginning the fall 2021 semester. It will be held from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Columbus Jr Golf hosts tourney

Winners in the Columbus Junior Golf Girls 12-14 division are: Reese Grundy, Columbus, first place; Mallory Thompson, Columbus, second place; Katelyn Spencer, Independence, third place; and Charlee Lemon, Independence, fourth place.

The Columbus Junior Golf summer program hosted 50 golfers for a SEK Junior League Tournament, Thursday at the Brush Creek Golf Course. Reese Grundy (12-14 year old) and Cali Carpino (9-11 year old) were top medalists in their age groups for the Columbus Team.

Smith hits homer

Big brother, Kanyen Smith, congratulates Kash Smith on his two-run, home run, Thursday night for the Lions Club Team in the final scheduled game of the Columbus Cal Ripken 12U Major League. The Lions Club beat the Jay Hatfield Motorsports Team, 7-1.

Lady Titan Volleyball recognized

The 2020 Lady Titan Volleyball Team was recognized during the annual Titan Booster Club’s Awards Ceremony, May 5 at Titan Stadium. Seniors on the squad are: Macy Anderson, Evie Parsons, Paige Zahm, Kerri Jones and Bailey Monroe.

Cal Ripken make-up games set

June 21-23 have been set as make-up nights for the May 19-21 games cancelled due to weather. League officials have stated that the same schedules originally set for the May dates will be kept intact for the June dates starting tonight with Coach Pitch and 10U Minor League action on Volunteer Field.

Central volleyball begins open gym

Central Junior High School Volleyball will begin having open gym nights, Thursday. All seventh and eighth grade girls interested in playing Junior High School Volleyball are invited to participate. The New Gym on the Central School Campus will be open every Thursday night from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Titan Baseball run-rules Labette County, 11-1

The Columbus Titan Baseball Team run-ruled the visiting Labette County squad, 11-1 in five innings, June 10 on Bomber Field at the Community Field Ball Park. The Grizzlies scored their lone run in the top of the first inning on a twoout home run.
