The Pittsburg St. Mary’s-Colgan Lady Panthers won the Kansas Class 2-1A State Softball Championship, with a 6-0 shut out over Burlingame High School, in Friday’s title game. The CNC League Runner-Up with a 10-2 record finished the regular season with a 16-3 overall record.

Baxter Springs High School Senior, Kip (Kenneth) Sheffer placed fourth in the Pole Vault at the Kansas Class 3A Track and Field State Meet at Wichita State University’s Cessna Stadium, Friday. Kip cleared 13 feet to earn a spot on the medal stand at the 2021 state meet.

Sophomore Jacy Thomasson and junior, Derek Larison, earned a place on the medal stand at the 2021 Kansas Class 3A Track and Field Championships in Wichita, Friday. The Riverton High School standouts and multi-sport athletes led the Rams on the track and in the field.
The Lady Titan Cross Country Team was introduced and recognized during the Annual Titan Booster Club Award Ceremony, May 5 at Titan Stadium. Head Coach Luke Henke introduced senior, Dixee Lacen, freshman, Sophie Lloyd, sophomores, Montana Ohmart and Ella McElroy, junior, Erin Lima, managers, Kaitlynn Hunt and Rylie Head and sophomore, Korri Combs were present for the event. Not pictured senior, Avery Campbell and sophomore, Maddie Buergin.

The Columbus Girls Softball League began their 2020 season in early May with the “big girls” leagues. The T-ball division practiced in May and begin their games Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. at the Columbus Community Field Ball Park T-ball Field.
