Little Miss, Mister Columbus contestants

The 2025 Little Mr. and Miss Columbus will be crowned Friday evening, October 10.Children vying for the 2025 title are Navie Robnett, 3 years old. She is the daughter of Zak and Charlsea Robnett. Kollyns Roberts, 3 years old is the daughter of Macy and Dillion Roberts.

Join in celebrating Columbus Day and the 56th anniversary of the Columbus Day Festival. The Chamber of Commerce would like to invite you to participate in the parade by entering a float, decorated bicycle, wagon, or walking entry. Your involvement helps strengthen our community spirit.

Try something new.Experience the excitement of a virtual reality roller coaster ride at the Columbus Day Festival. The ride will be set up at the southwest comer of Pennsylvania, under the tent.Both adults and children are welcome to participate.

Register early for car show, 5K

If you plan to participate in the Official Columbus Day Car Show, preregistration is available for $12 through Becky at Real Pro Reality or at the Chamber office. On the day of the event, registration will cost $15. The car show is scheduled to take place on the downtown square Saturday, October 11.

Behind our labor

As the Labor Day weekend passes and we fall into a new month’s rhythm and routine, now is a great time to reflect on our work.

Building character

While we are created in the image of God and “may participate in the divine nature,” we are not born with character. Character is developed by inculcating habits.If we were blessed to have good and wise parents, they probably did their best to inculcate good habits from a young age.

Compare, despair

Comparing ourselves with others is one of the mental habits that often leads to negative feelings, such as feelings of inferiority, envy and self-doubt.Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy has long warned against this bad mental habit, and social media has only made things worse.
