Lottie Bass celebrated her 89th birthday with a party Saturday. Her children surprised her with the party at the Columbus American Legion Post.

Royal tea party a hit with Park Elementary students

A Royal Tea Party was held to coincide with Park Elementary’s kings and queens reading unit March 31. Students were treated to snacks and were entertained by kings, queens, princes and princesses. LCC radiography students compete at conference

The Labette Community College second year Radiography Students, Director of Radiography and faculty attended the 85th Annual Kansas Society Radiologic Conference and Competitions in Lawrence March 31-April 1. Several LCC students earned a top three place during the conference.

Columbus Saddle Club presents awards

Getting together for a meal and awards ceremony, the Columbus Saddle Club held its annual banquet at the city’s community building. Members had a chance to chow down on their chicken dinners before President Jason Wells handed out a number of prizes and plaques to some of the distinguished guests.

The 1964 eighth grade class

The 1964 eighth grade class of West Mineral paid their respects to living and fallen veterans at the Columbus Veteran Memorial recently. Nancy Harrison paid respects to her father, Paul Bergant. Veteran John Johnson was honored and paid respects to his father, T. K. Johnson.
