Santa’s reasons to shop local

2021 has been a year for the record books and will long be remembered by business owners and residents. Businesses not only in Columbus, but all over have been hard hit – many being closed for several months.
Nominees for the Chris award were recognized at last year’s Chamber Dinner. This year’s dinner will be held January 26, 2022 and a new Chris Award winner will be named. There will also be inductions into the Educator and Sports Halls of Fame.

The Columbus Chamber of Commerce annual dinner is spelled out in the by-laws to take place each year, to bring members together, do some networking and have a little fun. Did you know the Columbus Chamber was first established in May of 1899 as the Commercial Club?

What does the Chamber do?

The Columbus Chamber of Commerce is an organization of businessmen, women, organizations and individuals who have joined together to accomplish collectively what they could not individually.

The Kansas Sampler Foundation will be bring the Big Kansas Road Trip to Cherokee, Crawford and Bourbon counties, May 5 -8, 2022. What is the Big Kansas Road Trip? The foundation promotes tourism in rural communities through first-hand experiences.

Baxter Legion helps with expenses

During the American Legions Post 206 Christmas Dinner in Baxter Springs, Steve and Beverly Dunn presented Jessica Brown with a memorial donation to go toward her husband, Malachi Brown’s medical expenses. The American Legion raised the money during their December monthly breakfast.
