Little Mister, Miss Holiday return to Baxter Springs

This year the Baxter Springs Chamber of Commerce in conjunction with American Bank of Baxter Springs, brought back the Little Miss and Little Mister Holiday Contest. The contestants sold tickets for one dollar each. The scoring was easy with the most money raised being the winner for each category.

Auxiliary learns COVID cases down

It was reported at the Mercy Columbus Hospital Auxiliary meeting Tuesday, November 16, Joplin Mercy is reporting less than ten COVID cases. The meeting was held at the St. Rose Parish Hall. Members recited the Pledge of Allegiance and the auxiliary prayer was read by Mary Brumback.

Good times are sure to be had in Columbus over the weekend. Rowdy’s Rustic Moose Lodge will be playing host to Cherokee County Arts Association’s latest and greatest dinner theater. A small but tight and wildly entertaining cast of five local ladies will sing and dance Friday, December 10 at 6:30 p.

Coronation for Baxter Springs Little Miss and Little Mister Holiday contestants will be held at the Baxter Springs High School during halftime of the boy’s basketball game tonight (Friday). The game begins at approximately 7 p.m.
