The Mayor’s Choice award was presented to Bob Houser showing his 1956 Ford truck (below). The winner was selected by Columbus Mayor Grant Spieth.The People’s Choice Award was presented to Rosalie Lopp for her 1957 Chevrolet Bel-Aire hardtop.

The Riverton High School first quarter honor rolls have been announced by Principal Chad Harper. Those named to the Superintendent’s Honor Roll, students making a 4.0004.

The Columbus Day committee wishes to say “Thank You” to the many volunteers for helping put on the Columbus Day Festival and Hot Air Balloon Regatta.It takes many hours of planning and working to put on a festival of this size.

A new restaurant has officially opened in Columbus with the unusual name of Lug Nuts Bar & Grill. Opened recently by Jamie and Doug Bolin both long-time Columbus business owners.

Members of the Southeast Lancer High School marching band took part in the annual Weir Homecoming celebration held the weekend of Friday the 13th. As the band marched along the parade route, they played a number of tunes to entertain the crowd.
