The Columbus Chamber of Commerce retail committee will be hosting the Halloween Walk on Tuesday evening, October 31. The walk will be held on Pine St. on the square from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. Children can come onto Pine from Kansas St. to visit the booths.

Southeast High School HOSA hosted their Fall Conference October 4. Lyla Oehme placed first and Kimber Kratz placed second in the Sports Medicine Mock Competition. Chloe Guymon submitted a pin design and her design was selected to be used for the state of Kansas.

Cherokee County Democrat Annual Fall Dinner will be held Thursday, October 19 at the Cherokee County Extension Office, at 124 W. County Road in Columbus. The meeting will start at 6 p.m. with Jeanna Repass, the Democratic State Chair as the guest speaker.

Columbus Junior and Senior High School will be honoring area veterans. There will be a breakfast held at 8:15 a.m. in the Columbus Junior Senior High School cafeteria Friday, November 10,, for all veterans, current servicemen, and a guest.

Columbus High School Homecoming parade

Members of the Columbus Titan Football team handed out candy during the Homecoming parade Friday, October 6. The Titans played the Colgan Panthers that evening. The Columbus High School Senior Class planned to “flush the panthers” according to the sign on their Homecoming float.
