Park Elementary first grade classes have coloring contest

In January, the elementary schools had a Character Education and talked about Eddie Eagle on gun safety, Rooster Booster on car seats and seatbelts, ALICE training on active shooter. The students had a coloring contest for Eddie Eagle, and Rooster Booster.

Neely is February member of month

The 4-H Member of the Month for February is 13-year-old Amory Neely. Neely is in the eighth grade at Columbus Junior and Senior High School and maintains a 4.0 grade point average. She began her tenure in 4-H as a Cloverbud and is now in her sixth year as a member of the Shamrock 4-H Club.

Twelve Riverton FBLA members in top 10

The District Regional Future Business Leaders of America competition was held Wednesday, January 25 at Pittsburg State University. Fifteen FBLA members from Riverton High School attended.

Columbus student receives agriculture experience grant

A $1,000 Supervised Agricultural Experience (SAE) grant has been awarded to John Moyer of Columbus by General Mills. SAE grants are designed to help Future Farmers of America members create or expand projects, a requirement that all FFA members must complete.
