Becoming a mom series will begin

The Cherokee County Health Department will be hosting the BAM or Becoming A Mom class series beginning August 4 at 3 p.m. and occurs every Monday including the dates of August 11, 18, 25, September 8 and 15.Pregnant individuals may attend along with their partners, for one or all of the classes.

Results announced in the Cherokee County foods judging

Results have been announced in the 4-H, Heritage Youth Association food judging. Food preservation, perishable and non-perishable foods judging took place at the 4-H building.Judges were Lynn Combrink, Jamie Robinson, Lori Carpino, and Marta Brown.

Jessica Lynn Nugent, 46, was arrested Saturday by Galena Police officers on charges of battery; causing bodily harm and was released on $1,500 bail.Samantha Jo Heine, 40, was admitted to the Cherokee County Law Enforcement Center Friday on a court ordered commitment.
