ACRA Rodeo returns to Columbus arena

The American Cowboys Rodeo Association rodeo will return to Columbus this Saturday. The event is hosted annually at Columbus Saddle Club Arena with riders across all age groups competing.Gates open at 8 p.m. June 13 and 14, cost for entry is $12 for adults and $8 for children ages six to twelve.

AG urges Governor not to grant clemency

A staple of East Avenue for more than fifty years is no more. The building, home of Joe Carter Post 1372 of the VFW, was razed and a gravel lot leveled to accommodate more parking for Park Elementary after the school district purchased the property last year.

Instrumental music awards were presented at the end of year concert. Band director Gae Phillips presented Ava Hulvey with the Merle Evans Award. This is a memorial award that is presented to an outstanding senior. Merle Evans was a famous circus performer and conductor with the Ringling Brothers-Barnum Bailey Circus. He was born in Columbus.
