Heritage Youth Association, FFA and 4-H members participated in the Showmanship class during the Cherokee County Dog Show held during the fair. Ribbons were awarded for their efforts.

Fire departments across the county are urging residents to be cautious this time of year as drier weather coupled with strong winds can cause an increased risk for fires.Crews with the Columbus, Scammon and West Mineral were busy Sunday afternoon battling a blaze along K7 Highway north of Columbus.
