Mary Burke retires from Mercy

After 40 years as a nurse and Director of Health Services at Mercy Hospital Columbus, Mary Burke retired with a well attended reception Friday morning. Hospital administrator Angie Saporito thanked Mary for her years of service and recognized her what she has done for the community. Mary’s husband Dennis Burke, a long time educator in Cherokee County joined in the celebration.

Health care workers, friends and former patients from throughout the tristate area and, all walks of life, attended the retirement reception for the Columbus Hospitals current longest serving nurse.

Columbus Hospitals, Director of Health Services, Mary Burke, said goodbye to dozens of her co-workers as she opens the next chapter in her life.
