The Pro Ice building roof was blown off across the street from the Baptist Church in Baxter Springs as well as damage to the downtown buildings on Military Avenue.
“I have received more than 150 reports of damage, from the Sunday morning storm and additionally a report from the Baxter Springs Fire Department said their wind gauge hit 85 miles an hour,” reported Matt Haviland, Emergency Management Director for Cherokee County.
A destructive storm blasted through the south part of Cherokee County early Sunday morning leaving debris in its wake.
