Donna F. Ammann, 71, of rural Parsons, died the afternoon of Monday, April 15, 2024, at Freeman Health System in Joplin, Mo.

Born May 11, 1952, in McCune, Donna Faye Ammann was the daughter of Hershel and Dorothy (Amos) Brown. She grew up and attended school in McCune, graduating from McCune High School in 1970.

Over the years, Donna worked a number of places in the Parsons area, including Don Divine’s restaurant, SAC, the Parsons State Hospital and Training Center, the Flesh Company and at Good Samaritan Society. Her greatest job, though, started July 9, 1988, when she and Albert Ammann were united in marriage and she began helping Albert milk cows on their dairy farm. The couple retired from the dairy in 2016, but Donna continued to help Albert on the farm. He survives of the home.

She was an active member of the Remnant Nazarene Church in Parsons, where she always enjoyed being the door greeter. Her life centered around her family and helping others. She was always willing to try new things and had an open heart for everyone she met. A favorite activity was sewing.

In addition to her parents, Donna was preceded in death by brother-in-law, Edward Ammann.

Additonal survivors include: brother Gary Brown and his wife, Judy, of McCune and their sons, Charlie Brown of Parsons; and Justin Brown and his wife, Kayci, of Pittsburg; sister Linda Warren and her husband, Charlie, of Altamont and their sons, Troy Warren and his wife, Bridget, of Plumerville, Arkansas; and Craig Warren and his wife, Cara, of Morrilton, Arkansas; three brothers-inlaw Larry Ammann, Paul Ammann, and Alvin Linnebur.

The funeral service will be held at 10 a.m., Monday, April 22 at the Remnant Nazarene Church in Parsons. Burial will follow at the New Mt. Hope Cemetery in Galesburg. The family will receive friends from 5 p.m., to 7 p.m., Sunday, at the Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Parsons.
