Michele “Micki” Sue Ward, 78, of Columbus, died at 1:05 a.m. Wednesday, March 2, 2022, at Mercy Hospital, in Joplin, Mo. following an illness. Born December 9, 1943 in Columbus, Micki was the daughter of Robert Martin Grisham and Doris Kenneth (Walker) Grisham.

Joan Charlene Melton, 75, Weir

Joan Charlene (Myers) Melton, 75, of Weir, died March 4, 2022. Born January 9, 1947, in Pittsburg, Joan was the daughter of Lonzo Charles Myers and Ellen Irene (Billionis) Myers. Joan and her lifelong love, Gary DuWayne Melton were united in marriage May 21, 1966 in Pittsburg.

Edna Trisler, 94, Weir

Edna Geneva Graham Trisler 94, of Weir, died 2:29 p.m. Thursday March 3, 2022, at her home following an illness. Born February 24, 1928, in Neosho, Mo., Edna was the daughter of Wendell L. and Ida Ethel (Rainey) Graham. She was a lifelong resident of the area and attended Pittsburg schools.

Virgil Boyd, Jr., 92,

Virgil Crosby Boyd, Jr. died February 28, 2022, at the Good Samaritan Society in Olathe. Born September 27, 1929 in Girard, Virgil was the son of Virgil Crosby Boyd and Christeen Violet Boyd. He was raised in Webb City, Mo.

Kebra Griffith, 28, Baxter Springs

Kebra Dawn Griffith, 28 of Baxter Springs, died unexpectedly Saturday, February 26, 2022 at her home. Born January 11, 1994 in Joplin, Mo., Kebra was the daughter of Misty (Cox) Griffith and Rex Griffith. She graduated from Galena High School with the class of 2012.

Zane Todd, III, Kansas City, Mo.

Zane Lee Todd, III, 28, of Kansas City, Mo., died February 28, 2022. Born, June 27, 1993 in Merriam, Zane was the son of Zane and Becky (Burch) Todd. Zane attended Blue Valley West. He earned an Associate’s Degree from Johnson County Community College in May 2019.

Jerry Price, 81, Grove, Okla.

Jerry Wayne Price, 81, of Grove, Oklahoma died Tuesday, March 1, 2022, at the Grove Nursing Center. Born September 27, 1940, in Baxter Springs, Jerry was the son of Ralph Ray Price and Lennie Maurine Baker Price. Jerry worked as mechanic for Price Chevrolet Motor company.
