Awards given at Farm Heritage Show

The Farm Heritage Show, held in conjunction with the Columbus Day Festivities, had a great year of participation and beautiful weather.Antique tractors and machinery at a record number registered in the show this year.

‘Tricky Trunk or Treat’ planned at Spring River

Spring River Mental Health and Wellness, Inc. (SRMHW) is thrilled to host our fourth Annual Health Fair: “Tricky Trunk or Treat.” Come out Thursday, October 30, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the Wellness Center Gymnasium for an evening of fun, learning, and community spirit.
The two residents of Medicalodges of Columbus annually selected as Mr. and Mrs. Columbus were crowned during the Columbus Days program Friday evening. Ivan Queen, an employee of Peabody for Tec Tank and a member of the armed services proudly served his country for eight years. Donna “Dee” Buffalo was a member of the military for three years and was a resident of Joplin, Missouri for many years. The two were crowned Friday night of Columbus Days.

City works to restore lost utility records

The entire electronic records of the of the city of Columbus utility departments were lost last week due to a hardware mechanical failure in the computer system. The city had two hard drives, one backing up the other when both failed.
