SE CC finishes regular season fast

The Southeast Lancers Cross Country team traveled to Mound City, October 9, and took advantage of the best weather they’ve seen all season. Each runner finished the race with something to be proud of.

Fun for all ages during 2025 annual Columbus Day Festival

If you would like to learn how to decorate cookies for the holidays, a special class will be held at the Sherwin Chirstian Church Saturday, November 15 from 9 a.m.-11:30 a.m.Class size is limited to 10 and RSVP’s are required.Sonja Ledford will be the instructor.

During the recent re-enactment in Baxter Springs of Quantrill’s raid on Fort Blair Jim Friend, of Grove, Oklahoma brought his portable blacksmith shop to the battle site.

SEK-CAP to suspend public transportation

A very brief message from the SEK-CAP was sent to the cities throughout Cherokee County indicating they would be suspending their public transportation service in the county.

Unique tour comes to Columbus

Bringing a bus full of folks from Braddyville, Iowa to the balloon festival in Columbus and dressing for the occasion is the occupation of Monroe and Janet Neihart.
