Mineral reunion has large turnout

The Mineral All-School Reunion held on Saturday evening held at the Old Parita Ballroom in Carona. More than 50 former students of Mineral High School and grade schools.Once again Virginia Moore was honored as the oldest graduate of Mineral High School attending the annual reunion.

Opening set for new Weir industry

The public is invited to attend the grand opening of a new industry locating in Weir, Baima Finishing Solutions. The grand opening of the new facility at 210 W. Main Street, in Weir. The celebration will take place on Friday, September 5, at 10 a.m. at the building.

Ribbons awarded in meat goat division

Results have been announced in the 4-H, FFA and Heritage Youth Association meat goat show. The judge was Mattie Haynes. Superintendents were Jessi Cain and Rodney Oels with committee member Albert Welch.

I, along with several teammates, have had many conversations about fall armyworms. Due to the lush plant growth that we’ve experienced this year, along with the timely northern wind from all parts south of us, armyworm numbers are likely higher this year than normal.
