Baxter rodeo begins tonight

Baxter Springs Saddle Club will be hosting the 57th Annual Cowtown MRCA/ACRA/URA rodeo beginning tonight at 8 p.m. and continuing Saturday night.Royalty contestants include Paisley Jo Cason, an eighth grade student at Cleora Public School in Cleora, Okla.

City of Columbus gets $650,000 grant

A $650,000 grant has been received by the City of Columbus through the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program. This grant will support critical improvements as the city moves forward with a $1.

Fair has biggest year in history

The recently ended Cherokee County Fair and Reunion was reportedly the biggest and most successful in the past 50 years.“We are one of the few “Free” Fairs in Kansas meaning we do not charge admission so we don’t have tickets to count,” said Brad Wells, Cherokee County Fair Secretary.
