Premium sale brings $87,400

The 2025 Cherokee County American Legion Fair and Reunion, came to a close Saturday night, with the livestock premiums sale bringing the curtain down as usual.The 4-H, HYA and FFA Premium Livestock Auction saw bidders pay $87,400 in premiums to the youthful exhibitors.
Easton Haywood, son of Kyle and Megan Haywood received a $3,000 premium bid from Draeger Farms after showing his Grand Champion Market Goat. Easton is a member of the Lone Elm Beavers 4-H Club.

Holmes get 4-H Family of Year

The David and Laura Holmes Family were selected as the 4-H Family of the Year and were recognized on a traveling plaque. The annual award is given in memory of Charles Herrenbruck.
