Workers continue progress on the Safe Route to School sidewalk replacement program. The grant helps build new sidewalks. The Maple Street project and East town project are currently underway. Wednesday water service in West town was disrupted due to the contractor striking a water line.
A new press box has been installed atop the bleachers at the Columbus High School football stadium. The multi story press box will accommodate photographers on the second story including livestreaming. The old press box was purchased by Bobbi Williams for $100 at auction from the Picher High School. The new press box cost over $181,000.
The annual Farm Bureau Pedal Tractor Pull once again this year led the opening night at the Fair on Tuesday. The winners in the four-year-old bracket were Margo Barcus in first place, Stetson Gregory in second place and third was Uri Hester.
