The ever popular Eastern Heights will be returning to the Cherokee County Fair Bandstand, after a years absence still performing a mix of classic country, rock and roll, R and B and original music.The band features Rob Blackburn, Tyler Stephans, Tyler Landry, and Grant Moody.
Some 4-H members opt to sell their animals during the premium auction at the Fair. Money received in the premium sale allows them to continue to grow and learn into the next year’s fair, with purchasing their next project animal.

Popular in area venues, Dillon Leggett, a multi-talented entertainer, will be performing at the Cherokee County Fair Friday, July 18.Leggett, a Riverton High School graduate, is a past winner of the Baxter Springs Idol contest and has performed locally at Brush Creek Golf and Grill.

Judging helps develop communication skills

One of the purposes of the fair is to show others your mastery of project skills and to learn how to improve those skills for the future. This is often accomplished thru the judging process.Judges are people who are knowledgeable about a particular project area.

Annual pedal tractor pull planned Tuesday

A Pedal Tractor Pull will be held Tuesday, July 15, in front of the Lions Snack Shack on Country Road. Rain or Shine.This annual event, sponsored by Cherokee County Farm Bureau Association, is open to boys and girls between the ages of four and 12 years old.Registration will be held from 5:30 p.m.

The Cherokee County fair judging officially began Saturday, June 28. The style revue was held in the Cherokee County Extension Office decorated in sunflowers by Superintendent Ashley Neely. Judge one was Cassandra Ellsworth from Oswego and her helper was Kristen Shepherd.

Nothing says Cherokee County Fair like the Girl Scout House Fair Kitchen.For over 75 years the Girl Scout House has been “the” place to eat during fair week.They are returning to the Scouts serving in the Girl Scout House after the pandemic prevented them from providing the table service last year.
