Teachers recognized for 25 years of service

More than 650 teachers from 115 school districts in Kansas -- including Columbus -- with 25 or more years of service to education were honored by the School of Education at the University of Kansas.
The Columbus High School volleyball team was fundraising early this week with a bake sale. The girls worked the community. Those participating were Jalie Fouts, Marilyn Pelt, Bella Box, Reise Cartin and Trinity Green. Ivana Basauri and Olivia Perdue.

Despite all the rainy weather the fishing season is well underway in Southeast Kansas.No less than four kids fishing tournaments are planned for the next two upcoming weekends.The kick-off is already underway, sponsored by the Columbus Bass Club their third annual fishing tournament.
