Search warrant leads to arrest narcotics arrest in Columbus
.Fire Crews were dispatched to a working structure fire in Columbus just after 2:30 Wednesday morning in the 400 block of S. Delaware. Four units and nine firefighters brought the blaze under control in short time. No nearby buildings were damaged and no injuries reported. Crews were able to quickly extinguish the blaze, saving half of the garage and preventing spread to the nearby house. Crews cleared the scene just after 4 a.m. The fire is under investigation by the Columbus Police Department.

Members of the Columbus Area Community Foundation and the Community Foundation of Southeast Kansas met for coffee and pastries at the Crossland Conference Center. Those present were given a brief overview of the organizations activities during the past year. Board members listened as Linda Grilz talked about the growth of the foundation. Matt Case, Devon Gorman, David Soper, Sonja Duley and Susan Schultz.
