New officers at Baxter PD

Three new police officers have been added to the force in Baxter Springs. The three ladies were approved by the City Council at the regular meeting on Tuesday.Carly Epler, Alexas Scofield were added as full time officers and Barry Smith will join the force as a part time officer.

Boil order issued for West Mineral

The Kansas Department of Health and Environment (KDHE) has issued a boil water advisory for the City of West Mineral public water supply system located in Cherokee County.

Several benefit dinners planned

A benefit dinner and auction will be held Saturday, February 1, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the Fraternal Order of Eagles in West Mineral for Marcia Mattox and Matt Blankenship.The menu will include spaghetti, salad, garlic bread and dessert. The auction will follow the dinner.
