Riverton HS announces honor rolls

Chad Harper, principal of Riverton High School has announced the honor rolls for the fourth term. Those named to the Superintendent’s Honor Roll, Students making a 4.000 – 4.000 grade point average include: Freshmen: Madelynn Darnaby, Maelee Dunn, Kassidy Kell and Noah Sparks.

Southwestern announces spring Dean’s honor roll

Top scholars at Southwestern College in Winfield and at Southwestern College Professional Studies have been announced with the release of the Dean’s Honor Roll for the spring 2022 semester. Trey White from Baxter Springs has been named to the list.

West Mineral Eagles host 46th annual kids fishing derby

Winners in the ages four-seven crappie division at the West Mineral Eagles fishing tournament were Natalie Kepner 1.19 pounds; Oliver Bole, 1.06 pounds and Kaydence Babcock, .99 pounds. The West Mineral Eagles held their annual kids fishing tournament recently.

It’s a sign of the season – political campaigning and the posting of campaign signs. The Kansas Department of Transportation reminds the public that all political campaign signs or billboards are prohibited from being placed on state right of way.

Paislee Hodgson took first place in the big Bass Division for ages 0-3 and the Columbus Bass Club Kids Fishing Tournament, May 28. Her bass weighed in at 2.8 pounds. Brooks Crain took second with a 1.8 pounder and Lillian Hale placed third with a 1.7 pound catch.
