Celebrating summer being right around the corner, the Cherokee County Democratic Party met in Scammon for their monthly meeting last week along with special guest Congressional District 2 Chair for the Kansas Democratic Party Alana Cloutier.

Students at Columbus Unified High School hosted a Youth Entrepreneurship cookout Friday, May 13. Students assisted with preparing, packaging and delivering. Jake Eddington and Trent Smith dropped off orders at a local business.

The time for the turning of the tassels is upon most of Cherokee County. Graduation ceremonies were held for Baxter Springs, Columbus and Riverton School Districts earlier this month. Baxter Springs’s ceremony took place in the school’s gymnasium on May 14.
