Fortunately there were no injuries

Fortunately there were no injuries when a large SUV crashed through the front of the Daylight Donut Shop at 103 West Maple in Columbus at approximately 10:30 Thursday morning. The shop owners, Maly Kheng and Marina Yong were both in the area struck when the car came through the wall.

Poly-cart rules draw citizen complaint

Complaints about the city of Columbus’s polycart cardboard box policy drew heated comments during Monday’s City Council meeting. Appearing at the meeting Randy Froebe criticized the current regulations requiring residents to break down and bag up their cardboard boxes.

Baxter School school board hears about gift boxes

Spring is in the air and the Baxter School USD 508 School Board was back in session April 11, 2022, to discuss district business. During the monthly meeting, the board heard from several guest presenters, the district superintendent, and held an executive session.

Good Friday service brings message

Moving music and powerful preaching recently filled the space of Columbus United Methodist Church. Columbus Association of Churches sponsored the special Good Friday service April 15.
