CBCO blood drive planned Monday

“Donut Forget” to give blood at the Community Blood Center of the Ozarks blood drive Monday, April 18. All blood drive participants will be entered to win a $150 grocery gift card during the Hungry to Help Blood Drive. These are daily drawings, each weekday in April and May.

Lions lose two one run games

Baxter Springs lost to the St-Mary’s-Colgan Panthers in a CNC League match-up 7-6 and 3-2 in eight innings at Pittsburg. The Lions took a 5-1 lead after three innings in the first game. Their opening run was a single by Garett Paxson, followed by a base hit by Kaden Niday.

Area Girl Scouts work to earn first aid badge

Learning about basic first aid (below) these Girl Scouts were just finishing up. Included were Raylee Ganinell, Rachael Pittins, Evelyn Miller, Anna Liese Crilli, and Sicily Daniels. At left, local Girl Scouts spent the day Saturday working toward earning the coveted First Aid Badge.
