Leah Rose Phillips 22, was arrested Sunday by Oswego Police officers on charges of burglary and possession of stolen property and is being held with out bail.

Cherokee County Jail Report

Charles Wayne Abernathy, 38, was arrested Sunday by Cherokee County Sheriff’s Deputies on charges of failure to appear and is being held without bail.

A two-vehicle accient occurred February 4 at approximately 6:30 .m. on Schifferdecker Avenue, one mile north of oplin, Mo. A 2006 Honda Element driven by Mariah N. Burns, 27, Webb City, Mo., was traveling north. A 2019 Toyota Tundra driven by Charles R. Botkin, 42, Galena, was traveling south.

City okays electric company contract

A ten year agreement between the city of Columbus and the Empire (Liberty) Electric Company has just been reached. The legal notices known as Ordinance 1492 and 1493 were passed by a unanimous vote from City Council during their February 22 meeting.
