Three attorneys have been nominated for the Eleventh District Judge’s position. The nominations will be sent to the Governor for her to choose a new judge. The selection process was chaired by Supreme Court Justice Evelyn Z. Wilson as a non-voting member of the committee. She was giving ballots to selection committee members Oliver Kent Lynch and Angie Ripple.

Tractor theft leads to arrest of local man

A Case compact tractor was reported stolen Sunday from a location in Southeastern Cherokee County. Deputies were dispatched to the location where the tractor had been used recently. A suspect was identified by deputies and a Kansas State Trooper spotted the suspect and the tractor Monday morning.
