Free drive by flu shots Friday

There will be drivethrough flu shots given at the Community Health Center of Southeast Kansas Friday, September 17 from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturday, September 18 from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 101 W. Sycamore St, in Columbus. There is no out-of-pocket cost for participants.

Stolen travel trailer found

A 2016 Wildwood Travel Trailer that was reported stolen Labor Day, from a property just outside the Columbus city limits was recovered. During the course of the investigation, the trailer was recovered September 9 on a property outside of Galena.

Dustin Waylon Almond, 30, was arrested Monday by Cherokee County Sheriff’s Deputies on charges of failure to appear and is being held without bail. Samantha Ann McCarty, 36, was arrested Monday by Galena Police officers on charges of failure to appear and is being held without bail.

Story time back at Baxter library

Story Time is back at the Johnston Public Library in Baxter Springs. Children ages three and up are invited to attend Story Time for stories and early learning activities. Story Times will be Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10 a.m.-10:30am. Current CDC guidelines will be followed.
