Selling a family business paved the way for a new family business to begin. George Moss went to college and graduated in 1974 as a licensed funeral director and embalmer. His plan was to work at the funeral home his father owned and operated in Sarcoxie, Missouri.

It’s that time of year, summer is coming an end, and children are getting ready to go back to school. The USD508 held open enrollment this week at the Baxter Springs High School. Students and faculty were ready to get things going.

City no longer has weather station

After nearly a hundred years Columbus is no longer a spot on the National Weather Service map. Last week the City of Columbus ended their association with the National Weather service. The equipment was removed from the City Water Department plant.
