It’s that time of year, summer is coming an end, and children are getting ready to go back to school. The USD508 held open enrollment this week at the Baxter Springs High School. Students and faculty were ready to get things going.

City no longer has weather station

After nearly a hundred years Columbus is no longer a spot on the National Weather Service map. Last week the City of Columbus ended their association with the National Weather service. The equipment was removed from the City Water Department plant.

Prizeweek consolation winner

The Prizeweek Puzzle continues to baffle the entrants. This week the closest to perfect and the consolation prize was Lilly Reeves missing five of the preferred answers. She will receive $10 in Columbus Chamber of Commerce gift certificates.
