Crosslands acquire Pitsco Ed company

A Pittsburg-based education company focusing on science, technology, engineering and mathematics products and curriculum, has been sold to the Crossland family, of Crossland Construction Co. Pitsco Education announced Wednesday their sale to the Columbus family. Ivan Crossland Jr.

Columbus judge, attorney reappointed

The legal team for the City of Columbus has been re-appointed by Mayor Grant Spieth and approved by the Council at the June 29, Council meeting. Barbara Wright was re-appointed City Attorney, and as city court prosecutor. John Bullard was re-appointed Municipal Judge.

Remembrances of community pioneers

The following short story was written by Charles (Ed) Skidmore about his grandparents. The short story was submitted by Mike Skidmore, author of three books about his father. The family were pioneers in the community of Skidmore located three miles north of Columbus.

Baxter Springs B of E sees science lab plan

Summer break is not slowing the Baxter Springs 508 School Board down, on July 6 the board met to prepare for the upcoming 2021-2022 school year. Superintendent David Pendergraft updated the board on the upcoming improvements to the High School Science lab.
