Area firefighters were kept busy last week with fire and special aid calls. Columbus firefighters were dispatched to the house fire at the corner of 700 N. Ohio and Lake at 11 a.m. on Friday. Attic fire with double roof made the fire difficult to control.

Cold snap sets 121 year record

As the temperature climbed back above freezing Saturday, after 14 days of bitter cold weather local residents were getting out of the warm confines of their homes. Tuesday, February 16 the local temps fell to 14 degrees below zero eclipsing the previous record set in 1979 at minus 1 degree.
