Donald Hignite was found guilty of driving while a habitual violator and no proof of insurance and was assessed fines and fees of $1,256. Offense occurred June 3, 2017.

Area firefighters were kept busy last week with fire and special aid calls. Columbus firefighters were dispatched to the house fire at the corner of 700 N. Ohio and Lake at 11 a.m. on Friday. Attic fire with double roof made the fire difficult to control.
Flames were extruding from the gaping hole in the roof on the west side of the building shortly after firefighters arrived at the scene. Fire trucks were somewhat hampered by the snow and slick conditions.
