Columbus woman dies in vehicle accident

An accident northwest of Columbus Sunday resulted in the death of a Columbus woman. Pamela L. White, 54, was traveling west on Northwest Bethlehem Road approximately onetenth of a mile west of Northwest 60 th in a 2008 Dodge Nitro. White went airborne while crossing the railroad tracks.

Next round of vaccines expected

Another round of COVID-19 vaccine inoculations is expected this week according to Cherokee County Health Director Betha Elliott. She told the Commissioners Monday that the vaccinations would take place at the Fair Ground’s cattle barns.

Andrew James Ross, 24, was arrested Friday by Cherokee County Sheriff’s Deputies on charges of burglary and criminal trespass and is being held without bail.
