Community members can receive all the services a big bank provides with the personalized customer support of a small town at American Bank in Baxter Springs. During the over one hundred year history of American Bank seventeen people have served as president of the institution.

Over 125 citizens who live or work in Cherokee County received their first dose of the Moderna vaccine, which will require a second dose in approximately 28 days. “Thanks to a great team effort, today’s vaccination event went incredibly smooth.

Baxter Springs EMS offers free COVID-19 testing

Residents of Cherokee County can receive free COVID-19 tests at the Baxter Springs Ambulance Service office Monday through Friday 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. The tests are sent by currier to the Sino chip Diagnostic lab and the results are available the next day.

Friday afternoon several people opened their email to find a notice from a city and county official asking if they had a Amazon account. Almost immediately several of the city and county officials, some who received the message were warning friends about the scam.

Commissioners meeting moves back to first floor
